- i use LJ mainly for maintaining friendships with people, not for forming new friendships
- for me, frienships are a reciprocal thing
- i'm still old-school enough that purely virtual friendships seem a little odd to me
- if we've interacted a bit in RL and you friend me, i'm likely to friend you back
- if we've not interacted in RL, but have interacted a fair amount on-line, friending isn't impossible
- if we have friends in common, the probability of reciprocal friendage increases
- if i have no idea who you are, i'm not likely to friend you
- if we've been mutual friends, and you unfriend me, i'm likely to respond in kind
